THE STORY OF MAMIE JO

Our story

Two sisters, one inspiring grandmother, and the urge to carry on a spirit we have had in us since we were children.

Two sisters,
a thousand memories

We are Léa and Lorie, two sisters who are mad about making things by hand, and the founders of Mamie Jo, a creative café in Nice.

Our story starts long before this place: around our grandmother's table, on those afternoons that seemed to go on forever.

The art of taking your time

At her house there was always something to make with: beads, thread, paper, ideas. We tried things, started over, laughed, invented. Nothing was perfect, but everything mattered, because we had made it with our own hands.

Our grandmother passed on something precious: the pleasure of making, and the importance of taking your time. Time to imagine, to learn, to do, simply that.

One place, one tribute

Mamie Jo came out of something very simple: keeping alive the spirit of those afternoons at our grandmother's. A gentle, warm, creative place where you can sit down, express yourself, and let your hands tell a story.

More than a project, Mamie Jo is our tribute to those childhood memories, to what gets handed down, and to everything that making things can give you.

And what if the adventure were only just beginning?
